High Performance Catalyst Pad

The G series high performance catalyst pad (alternately referred to as "hot pad") produces higher temperatures at its catalytic surface than the X series catalyst pad and is therefore not suitable for hazardous location heating. The G series catalyst pad is available only in the G series Cata-Dyne™ Heater. G Series catalyst pads are available for use on either natural or propane gas.

The standard heat output for a Cata-Dyne™ heater fitted with G series hot pads is 6000 BTU/hr/ft2, producing temperatures in the range of 480°C (900°F) at the catalytic surface for "stand alone" heaters not installed into an oven system; heaters installed into an enclosed oven system will produce higher surface temperatures in the 540°C (1000°F) range. Some industrial thermal applications will require more heat.

The G series heater is available in an alternate special design that produces a higher heat output (8000 BTU/hr/ft2 ), producing temperatures in the 540°C (1000°F) range for "stand alone" heaters and 705°C (1300°F) when operating inside an oven. For convenience's sake, the 6000 BTU/hr/ft2 heaters are called 6K heaters; the 8000 BTU/hr/ft2 heaters 8K heaters. 8K heaters do not have product approval from CSA or FM and are sold as non-certified heaters. 8K heaters are available only in the G series Cata-Dyne™ heater.
