The DriQuik™ QuikKILN Electric Halogen Short Wavelength High Density Oven is representative of CCI Thermal's on-going commitment to product development. This high-intensity oven takes infrared into previously uncharted high temperature and high speed applications, resulting in faster process times than other infrared technologies. It is most effective on substrates that require temperatures of 500°F (260°C) or higher, though it is also capable of curing standard lower temperature applications at a high rate of speed.
The QuikKILN is typically used for both high and very high density infrared applications, such as wet coat curing at very high line speeds, wet coat high temperature curing (Teflon® coatings 800ºF), ceramic and frit curing (1500ºF high temperature applications), powder coat gel (booster ramp into convection oven) function, coil coating applications, powder coat curing and preheating processes at high line speeds.
Features & Benefits At A Glance
- emitter features a Halogen T-3 bulb; a ceramic primary reflector is applied to the rear half of the bulb to direct the bulk of the infrared energy to the work piece
- available in 1600W or 2500W wattages (PYRO series available in 2500W only)
- standard 480V emitter voltage; custom voltages available upon request
- engineered to maximize halogen T-3 bulb life, with a bulb seal area temperature of 300°F (149°C) and bulb bulb sheath temperatures below 900°F (482°C)
- instantaneous thermal adjustment
- reduces dwell time, eliminating the heat sink problems associated with convection ovens
- custom configurations and features profiled to the specific process and/or application
PYRO Series:
- heater face and interior are comprised entirely of refractory material to minimize energy transfer to the heater fixture and oven structure, as well as maintain infrared reflection/re-radiation to the oven interior
- pressure ventilated to extend bulb life
- oven interior lined with refractory material when the process temperature requires heat isolation from the emitter oven structure
- standard back-loading design for safe and convenient maintenance access
- suitable for product temperatures up to 1500°F (815°C)
- emitters include rear side collar for forced air cooling
SS Series:
- lower infrared density design; pressure ventilation is not required to maintain maximum bulb life
- emitter assembly is mounted in a formed stainless steel housing
- ideal for applications where the part temperature maximum limit is 800°F (427°C) or lower
- well-suited for high-speed applications
